Elthos Game Test - Actual Play Stories
Following stories demonstrate how we have used the Elthos RPG (ODS version) to drum up absolutely awesome adventures. Each Episode (Chapter) of Elthos Game Test Story is shown in the order it was played and represents one Game Session. Occasionally where the story was long, for readability purposes I split them up into separate parts which is why some of the dates overlap.
My intention for this project has been to represent the actual play as faithfully as possible, and maintain the fidelity of the actual dialog that was spoken by the Players during the course of play. Each game was recorded on tape and transformed into literary form by yours truly. The only changes I've made were to add a few narrative elements here and there, and introduce a bit of information about the back-story that might not have been known by the players during game, but were revealed sometime soon afterwards, or should be known by the audience. As such this represents about as faithful a representation of the game itself as I can manage. My goal is to show in an entertaining format how we used Elthos RPG to create and play a diversity of Worlds.
I have also included in this list some of the artwork I've done along the way of certain characters in the game.
For those who may notice and wonder, yes, we did play every two weeks between 2014 and 2019, but those games were the unrecorded tales of the accursed township of Whitewode. After that I took a year or so to develop the "Way of All Flesh" Sci-Fi World and work on Mythos Machine before picking up my bi-weekly games again in 2020.
I want to thank all of my players for giving me the permission to do so, the useful and insightful feedback on the Elthos RPG they provided, and so many action packed and wonderful evenings over the years. And special thanks to Talara for being so kind as to help me along the way (beginning some part of the way through WoAF) with her excellent copy editing skills!
